What does the JS Decal on the helmet stand for?

It is to honor the memory of John Syracuse who served for 35 years as president. Reminding us of his spirit and vision for the Chargers.

In 1962, the Greece Chargers were formed. The first president was George Iwasko. In 1968, there were only two GC teams, the Midgets, and the Pee Wee's. John Syracuse took over as the second president. John reigned as president of the Chargers until his passing in 1999 (over 35 years!) Its hard to find that longevity of leadership in any modern organization and its the dedication and commitment of people like John Syracuse that make the Greece Chargers the class organization that they are today.

In 1999, Scott Zappia became the new President of the Chargers and is carrying the tradition forward.
